I love to read books about blogging. There are so many available on Kindle, I download them and consume them like there’s no tomorrow. Even if I don’t learn anything new from them, they keep me inspired to be better with my blog… and hopefully they have helped me to improve.

Here are my 5 favourite books on blogging:

1. How To Blog For Profit Without Selling Your Soul by Ruth Soukup

This book is a brilliant resource for anyone looking to earn money from a blog. Soukup starts out telling you the best ways to create a blog and makes it clear that you can’t earn money without creating and working on a platform first. Once she’s been through this with you, she shows you numerous ways to make money, including speaking to other bloggers about where their blogging income comes from. It’s a great insight into how many different ways there are to earn cash from blogging, but also packed full of tips for improving your blog.

2. Blogging For Fun And Profit: How To Have More Fun Writing Blog Posts And Make Money At The Same Time! by Marc Guberti

This guy is 17 years old. He has a really successful blog and has published tons of books on Kindle. And he goes to school every day, too. If that’s not inspiring, I don’t know what is. Guberti calls himself the Teenage Entrepreneur, and gives some great tips in this book, not just about the pracitcality of setting up a blog, but about how to choose a topic for your blog, get the most out of it, and earn some money. I found this book really inspiring; it made me want to rush to my laptop and write a gazillion posts!

3.Blog, Inc. by Joy Deangdeelert Cho, Meg Mateo Ilasco & Grace Bonney

I downloaded this book by mistake one day when I was stuck at the train station between trains for half an hour… but I was soon hooked! What I love about this is that they interview so many other bloggers, there’s just a huge wealth of information in here, and so many different viewpoints as to how to blog, how to maintain a blog, how to earn money, how to… everything! It’s a brilliant book and has introduced me to so many brilliant blogs I had never heard of before, as well as being really inspiring.

4. On Writing by Stephen King

Ok, so this one is not technically a book about blogging – but yeesh, how I wish all bloggers would read it! Seriously though, it’s such a brilliant book by someone who is one of the most successful writers of all time – so he knows what he’s talking about. This book is great for helping you to improve your writing, even if you think it doesn’t need to be improved upon.

5.How to Write Great Blog Posts that Engage Readers by Steve Scott

I couldn’t write a post about blogging books, and not include one by Steve Scott, could I! Steve Scott has written so many fantastic e-books, I’ve read loads and have yet to find one that didn’t offer me some information or insight I wasn’t previously aware of. This book is all about content, rather than the fluff around the outside. And as a friend is keen on repeating almost daily: content is king, people! You can have the prettiest blog in the world, and you can promote it on social media, across all platforms, all day and night – but if people click that link and find your content lacking, they’re never coming back – and they’ll probably unfollow you too. This book is written by someone who has been incredibly successful in writing and blogging, so it’s definitely worth a read.

I am still downloading blogging books all the time, so I may well make another list at some point in the future. I just love to read about blogging, purely to keep myself motivated and heading in the right direction.

Do you have a favourite blogging book? I’d love a recommendation if you have one!

Great Post! I will have to read these books. I want to make money with my blog but have no idea how to do except for Adsense, which I haven’t used yet. These will be helpful. Thanks for sharing!

I soo need a kindle. I love real books but I would read more if I had instant access to titles. I’ve never read a book about blogging, I wonder if it shows?!!!
