I’ve been chatting to a few people lately about holidays. I’ve not been on holiday since well before S was born, and I’m hoping next Summer we’ll be able to get away for a break.

When I’m looking at holidays I like to browse around a lot – day dreaming, thinking about whether I’d like to go there, would that beach be where I’d like to spend a few days lounging about? I actually quite enjoy having a browse around holiday websites on a rainy day – it brightens my day!

One site I lost a fair amount of time in was Fred Olsen. They offer a wide range of cruises from the UK to all sorts of wonderful places. I always thought cruises were luxury holidays for rich people with no budget restrictions – but actually, they’re quite reasonably priced. Since going on a cruise of the Nile several years ago, I’ve really wanted to go on another cruise.

The only problem is, where would I go?

The Baltic? The Canaries? Greenland? The Mediterranean? Norway? There are so many choices, and the photos on all of them look amazing! I love the idea of getting onto a boat and sailing off into the sunset – so much more romantic than queueing up to check in at an airport, don’t you think?

The thing about a cruise is that you can visit so many different places, as well as enjoying all the experiences available on board. And if you don’t fancy any of the entertainment, you can always just sit on deck and watch the sea going by. Heavenly!

Most tempting, the Fred Olsen has a last minute deals section… and they depart from loads of different ports, including Southampton which is just down the road from us! If you don’t hear from me next week… don’t be surprised!
