This week’s podcast is more about my sugar-free journey, and how I’m coping with my cravings, and the sugar-eating habits of my toddler.

Here are some of the books I’ve been reading lately:
That Sugar Book – I reviewed this a couple of weeks ago and it was like a massive kick in the bum to sort myself out and start the move towards being sugar-free. The website for the film is here.
Sweet Poison – I reviewed this earlier this week. Amazing and full of information and scientific fact as well as science and history. A great read.
The Sweet Poison Quit Plan – I’ve just finished reading this one; it’s filled with help and tips for quitting sugar, and lists of which products in the supermarket have most or least sugar.
I Quit Sugar – I reviewed this last year. a wealth of information and recipes.
Year of No Sugar: A Memoir by Eve O. Schaub – a book about how Schaub, her husband and their two daughters went for 12 months without sugar… and how hard it was.
And here are the products with added sugar that have surprised me this week:
- Pom Bear crisps: marketed to kids; sugar added for reasons I can’t discern.
- Walkers cheese &onion crisps: possibly other brands too but I didn’t check those. I was too heartbroken.
- Worcestershire sauce: other people seem less surprised by this one
- Bisto gravy granules: Ahhhh, I’m going to have to learn to make proper gravy.
