I’ve been doing this for ten weeks now, and on my sugar-free journey for ten weeks.
The last couple of weeks have been bonkers. My routine has gone out the window and I’ve barely been home during the day to work – which has meant I’ve been working in the evenings, and now I stop to think about it, I can’t remember the last time I ate a proper meal! Instead I’ve been snacking on crackers and crisps and random bits and bobs here and there, too pushed for time to stop and make a proper meal for myself. The last few days I’ve felt quite ill as well, which hasn’t helped with the desire to spend time standing up in the kitchen. I’ve also not managed to record my food on my New Me profile – I think because I was out and about all over the place and grabbing food where I could.
Goal for last week
Last week’s goal was to get back into everything… that’s not really happened!
Goal for this week
This week’s goal is to find a way to work my food and exercise around being busy. I don’t want my work to slow down – so I need to be more organised with my food and exercise, or it’s just not going to happen!
Exercise
I think I managed more than 10,000 steps about twice last week, which is a bit rubbish. I’m visiting a few clients this week so hoping (weather permitting) I can manage to walk to them and get some more steps in!
Food/Drink
Despite not really paying much attention, I’ve done okay. I’m still eating a little sugar here and there, on the understanding that once a certain thing is finished, we won’t buy more. This week saw the end of the tomato ketchup, which I know will be hard for S to deal with. On days when I’ve eaten tea with S I’ve done okay, but if she’s eaten at nursery or only needs a snack when she gets home, I don’t really bother to cook anything for myself in the evening. Now the warmer weather is coming (ha) I think I’m just going to fill the fridge with loads of salad things and have salad whenever possible.

Wow, two pounds off! I am genuinely surprised by this, and it’s really made me feel moremotivated to get myself back on track.
Looking back at the photo I posted at the beginning of March, I do think I look a little better today:
Since I re-started my weight loss efforts, I’ve lost 9 lbs and a total of eleven inches over all. My hernia is bothering me less, and several people have commented that I’ve lost weight and my skin looks better so I’m happy with that. I still have a way to go though. There are seven weeks until Brit Mums Live, and I want to feel that I look good when I arrive there.

Thanks, I definitely feel healthier. And realising Brit Mums is in 7 weeks and not just something in the dim and distant pasts helps I think – something to focus on!

Wow, ten weeks sugar free??? I’m in awe. I’m totally addicted to it. Have you ever read the “I quit sugar for life” books by Rachel wilson? Really interesting!

I have, I love them both – two books I never lend out to anyone! It’s tough in those first couple of weeks but then you just sort of get used to it. I’ve gone from having a litre of Coke and tons of chocolate every day to not even going near that aisle in the supermarket.

2 lbs off always a bonus! Can’t believe only 7 weeks until BritMums. No time and plenty of time at the same time! Hopefully next week will calm down a bit so easier to get back on track. Good luck!! xx #bloggingtojogging

It’s great, especially when they say it without me going “I’ve been doing this diet thing…” as a hint!

Thanks, I’m doing my best. I figure as long as I’ve not resorted to eating sugar again I’m doing ok. Small steps!

Well done on losing 2lb this week, you have done amazingly well since you started! I don’t think I could cut out sugar, fair play to you!
It’s great when people start to notice a change in you, isn’t it? Really boosts the confidence and helps you focus and keep at it.

Thanks, you’re so right. I don’t notice any difference day to day so it’s nice if someone else points it out!

You are doing so, so well… giving up sugar is not easy in the slightest but the whole ‘when you run out of something, don’t replenish’ is a great way to go. Something I definitely need to stick to! I have found the New Me diet hard to stick to, it allows me too much freedom and I need to be quite strict with what I eat and my exercise routine. Your pictures always make me smile, but you can see a noticeable difference, you are rocking it chick – you can do it – roll on BritMums! #WeightLossWednesday xx

Ah thanks Sim! I honestly don’t miss the sugar now – it’s just hard to find foods that don’t have it added. I have the odd time when I really want something “nice” but usually can’t think of a specific thing I want to eat so am ok. Hopefully by the time Brit Mums Live comes around I will have dropped a chin or two!
